String Theory with David Silverstein. The quest for a theory of quantum gravity and a grand unified theory has been sought after for decades. Form the electroweak force to Yang-Mills theory, physicists have been searching for a theory that unifies all 4 fundamental forces. String theory is such a theory that forces one to unify gravity with quantum mechanics. Yet it allows one to unify all 4 of the fundamental forces in nature. In this episode a young String Theorist who’s work began at Umass Dartmouth will take us through the historical origins of string theory.
