An italian particle experimentalist and senior researcher Andrea Giammanco, shares his knowledge and explains the peculiar behavior of quarks. While quarks have interesting properties to them, there is one quark in particular that stands out more than the rest. This happens to be the top quark. Andrea takes us through the history and experimental method used to detect quarks with the highlight being the top quark. In addition to quarks, elementary particles and the standard model, it is explained that the standard model is far from the end of the story.
